POLICY FOR BUS SERVICE:
The following terms & conditions need to be followed by parents/guardians & students to obtain the bus service.
- Application Process: Students must apply through Desalite Connect to avail the school bus service.
- Fee Structure: The bus fee is applicable and charged for 12 months in the academic year, divided into four quarters. Full payment for each quarter should be made in advance before the start of the quarter.
- Late Fee: Please be informed that a late fee of Rs. 10/- per day shall be charged for delayed payments for school transport services. (For example, if a quarter (April, May, June) ends in June, the payment must be made by the month of June only. Any payments made after June will incur an additional Rs. 10 per day as fine, starting from July 1st). To avoid any inconvenience, we kindly request parents to make payment for the quarter with the time frame.
- Discipline and Decorum: Students must follow the instructions of the authorized person and maintain discipline and decorum inside the bus. Violations of bus service guidelines shall lead to disciplinary action by the School Behavioral Management Committee, and bus service may be terminated for such students.
- Route Restrictions: The buses shall not travel through by-lanes.
- Damage Liability: In case of any loss or damage to bus property, parents/guardians shall be liable to pay for the damages, and bus service for the student shall be terminated.
- Punctuality: Parents must ensure that their child/children are at the pick-up point at the assigned time. The bus shall not wait for students at pick-up points after the allotted time.
- Drop-off Procedure: All possible efforts will be taken to hand over the child to the parent/guardian while dropping back from school. If guardians are not available during drop time, the child shall be brought back to school, and parents must collect the child from the school.
- Traffic Delays: Delays or diversions due to traffic congestion or road repairs are not the fault of the School Management.
- Safety Responsibility: The school bus service is responsible only for the pick-up and drop-off of students at designated stops. Parents are responsible for supervising their children to/from the pick-up/drop-off point and ensuring their safety before and after boarding the bus. School personnel shall not assist children in crossing roads.
- Service Cancellation: If there are insufficient students on any route, the bus service shall be cancelled for that route.
- Restricted Use: Parents, guardians, and unauthorized persons are not allowed to use the school bus service.
- Seat Availability: The availability of bus service depends on the seat capacity of the bus. The school reserves the right to decline the service to anyone without assigning any reason.
- Travel Time Variation: The travel time of the buses may vary depending on the number of students on the route.
- Route Changes: The routes of school buses may change if needed, and the same shall be communicated to parents by the School Transport Coordinator.
- Service Frequency: Buses shall run once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Additional bus services shall not be provided class-wise during examinations or any other time.
- Address Change: If the residence address changes mid-year, bus service to the new address will depend on seat availability on the route.
- Leave Notification: Parents must inform the bus staff/School Administration if a student is on leave or collected by parents during school hours. If a student does not want to avail the return trip from school on any day, parents must inform the Bus Staff/School Admin in advance.
- Responsibility for Leaving Campus: Although proper care is taken to ensure children's safety, the school is not responsible if a child leaves the school campus on their own.
- Non-refundable Fee: The fee once paid is not refundable for any reason (lockdowns, curfews, bandhs, etc.).
- Behaviour and Grievances: Parents/guardians/students must cooperate and not misbehave with the staff on bus duty. . Grievances should be communicated through the ‘Contact the School’ portal of Desalite Connect only.
- Misbehaviour Consequences: In cases of extreme or persistent misbehaviour, the School Authorities reserve the right to suspend transport facilities for the student. School transport arrangements shall then become the responsibility of the parents.
GUIDELINES FOR THE BUS DRIVERS AND HELPER
- Bus drivers must carry a valid Driver’s License and the ID card issued from the school.
- The Diver must not exceed the speed limit beyond 40 Km/hr.
- The Bus drivers shall wear the uniform (Khaki color shirt and trousers with black shoes) provided from the school and maintain a neat personal appearance.
- The drivers shallwear the seat belt at all times while driving the vehicle.
- Smoking is not permitted on a school bus with or without students on board. No driver shall operate a bus while under the influence of liquor or debilitating drugs.
- During the bus operational time, the bus staff shall not use any profane language.
- The drivers must undergo compulsory medical test every year along with trainings conducted by the school for ensuring safe transportation.
- The bus drivers shall inspect the assigned vehicles regularly and perform routine maintenance check-ups. In case of detection of any defects, the bus driver shall immediately inform the School Admin.
- Bus drivers should keep an up-to-date route schedule in the bus at all times. Any change in bus routes/stop locations must be done only with the prior approval of the School Admin.
- The bus drivers shall ensure that the school bus is in good repair and safe operating condition.
- The bus staff shall assist any student who may be having problems getting on and off the bus.
- Always check the bus after completion of route or field trip for damage, lost articles of children.
- The bus staff shall not allow non-transport student or parents of student of the school in the bus.
- In case of any misconduct of students, the bus staff shall also report the Transport-in-Charge.

- The Lady Bus Attendant shall mark the attendance of the Transport users of their respective buses.
- In case the bus reach early before the time allotted the bus driver shall wait on the particular stoppage till the time allotted. If required, the Lady bus attendant may call the parent.
- Buses are not to be refueled with students aboard.
- The Bus drivers shall not be allowed to pick up up any other passengers on the school bus apart from students.
- No drivers are allowed to switch off of the CCTV camera of the bus, if found any, strict actions shall be taken against the driver.
- The Helper along with the Lady Bus Attendant must clean their bus on daily basis.

GUIDELINES FOR THE SCHOOL TRANSPORT
- School buses must be painted in yellow.
- The word “School Bus” must be written behind the vehicle.
- The Vehicle Registration Number must be painted in black and visible.
- The Bus No to printed on the front & backside of the bus.
- The name of the school along with its contact details must be included on the vehicle.
- Buses must be affixed with GPS tracker, operational CCTV cameras and speed monitors.
- The school bus must be equipped with emergency alarm and siren.
- The seats inside the school bus must be made of non-combustible material.
- Every bus must have a First-Aid Kit and a Fire Extinguisher inside the vehicle.
- A well-trained Attendant is mandatory inside the school bus.
- At least two emergency exists are compulsory on school buses.
- The bus driver shall ensure that the bus is not over loaded and shall notify the Admin immediately about it.
GUIDELINES FOR THE STUDENTS AVAILING SCHOOL TRANSPORT
The School considers the school bus to be an extension of the classroom and therefore classroom conduct is to be observed by students at all times.
- General Instructions
- All the students shall carry their school ID card daily.
- Students shall reach the bus stop 5 minutes prior to their pick-up time.
- Students shall not occupy the driver’s seat of the bus at any point of time.
- Daily attendance will be taken in the bus by school bus staff.
- The emergency door and emergency window should ONLY be used in emergencies.
- Only authorized students availing bus service will be allowed to ride the bus to and from school. Parents are not allowed to use the school transport service.
- General Behavior
- Follow Instructions: Always listen to and follow the driver’s and conductor’s instructions.
- Respect Others: Be courteous to fellow students, the driver, and the conductor. Avoid disruptive behavior.
- Stay Seated: Remain seated. Aisles should be kept clear at all times.
- Keep Noise Levels Down: Avoid loud talking, shouting, or playing music is discouraged as such behavior may also distract the driver. Keep the environment calm and respectful.
- Safety Measures
- Boarding and Alighting: Wait in an orderly manner at their designated bus stops and board the bus only after it has come to a halt, without rushing in or pushing others and should get down at their designated destination.
- Stay Away from Traffic: While waiting for the bus, stay away from the road and avoid running or playing near traffic.
- Use Handrails: Hold onto handrails when boarding or alighting to prevent accidents.
- Emergency Procedures: Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures and exits.
- Personal Items
- Keep Belongings Secure: Ensure that bags and personal items are kept securely in your lap or under the seat.
- Avoid Bringing Dangerous Items: Do not bring any items that could be harmful or disruptive, including sharp objects or flammable materials.
- Cleanliness
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the bus clean by not littering. Use trash bins provided or keep your trash with you until you can dispose of it properly.
- Food and Drinks: If permitted, eat and drink in moderation. Clean up any spills immediately.
- Conduct and Discipline
- No Bullying: Bullying or harassment of any kind is strictly prohibited. Respect everyone’s space and privacy.
- Follow Dress Code: Adhere to the school’s dress code while using school transport, if applicable.
- In order to promote the safe transportation of students, cameras are used to monitor students’ behavior in the bus.
- No part of the body should be extended from the window at any time.
- Health and Hygiene
- Stay Home When Sick: If you are unwell, it’s best to avoid using school transport to prevent spreading illness.
- Hand Hygiene: Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before boarding the bus to minimize the spread of germs.
- Profanity in school buses.
- Fighting or other aggressive physical behavior.
- Smoking in school buses.
- Unnecessary distraction of driver.
- Destruction of any bus property (restitution will be the parent’s(s’)/legal guardian’s(s’) financial responsibility).
- Violation of rules and safety on school bus
- Any act which interferes with the safe or orderly transportation of students.
GUIDELINES FOR THE PARENTS AVAILING SCHOOL TRANSPORT FOR THEIR WARDS
Safety awareness must begin and be consistently reinforced at home. The following points are suggested for parents
- The first quarterly fee for the school transportation should be paid in advance to confirm the bus service facility. Once the payment is cleared the student shall be able to board the bus.
- Once the bus service is availed, the student shall have to avail the school transportation for the Academic Session.
- The remaining quarterly fees must be paid on the first month of every quarter (Eg.: Second quarterly fees for the month of July, August, September, in this case the quarterly fees is to be paid on the first week of July).
- Parents should also support & abide by the policies of the school and transport provider.
- Familiarize themselves with school and transport provider policies and procedures pertaining to riding a bus. Know the child's bus number, telephone numbers of the Bus Attendant, School Admin and Office numbers of the School.
- Parents should establish to reach the bus stop 5 minutes as per the time allotted for the stoppage.
- In case of leave, the parents are requested to inform the Lady Bus Attendant one day prior or before the bus arrival time for smooth functioning of the transportation.
- In case the student is taking a half day leave, the parents shall inform the Lady Bus Attendant of the particular bus before leaving the school.
- Parents should inform their wards not to leave the school premises along with their friends or relatives without informing the respective Lady Bus Attendant, as it may create chaos as both the parties shall not be able to identify the whereabouts of the ward.
- Warn your children of the danger of strangers who appear friendly and hang around bus stops. Provide your child with a school bag to carry all their school supplies along with the School ID Card.
- Stress the importance of remaining properly seated and reasonably quiet and disciplined while aboard the bus.
