St. Francis De Sales School, one of the premier educational institutes in Guwahati, Assam is proud to celebrate its 25th anniversary by turning the clock back to the 1998s when social media barely existed. 25 years of endless strive towards excellence is finally here! SFS Guwahati has come a long way since 24^th January, 1998 and worked hard to build a conducive environment to nurture passionate learners and gracious citizens. Days followed weeks and weeks in turn embraced months. Months later approached years and the years gave into decades. Finally, the first decade was added with one more decade and a half and thus SFS completed a very arduous journey and now is all set to enter into its Silver Jubilee year. The school has become a renowned reference in private education in Guwahati, Assam, and is recognized for its high standards in teaching and learning.

With an education based on a humanistic philosophy and an effective and humanistic approach, St. Francis De Sales School will continue to educate children to become conscientious citizens, able to face the challenges of the future.

SFS School, Narengi, Guwahati is the result of the dream and aspiration of Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales, North East India Province. The school is a unity of the Mermier Educational Society. The genesis of the school can be traced back to the year 1998 with a student enrollment of 70 in Class I. The school began with the course curriculum of the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) but since 2010, it is under the affiliation of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The first batch of Class 10 students passed from the school with flying colours in the year 2008 and the school started the senior secondary section in the year 2011. Fr. Tomy Thekkel the first Principal of the school.

The strive for betterment in each arena has led the school to where it stands proudly today and also in the future as well. This ideal organization, founded by the missionaries of St. Francis De Sales, North East Province has ever since been working tirelessly and expectantly to fulfill the mission of imparting education and selfless service to mankind. SFS is not just an institution, it’s a large family that gives it’s students opportunities to experience the subtle abstraction and inherent beauties of life by organizing various curricular and co-curricular activities.
