About The Event
The start of the Academic Session 2026–27 at SFS Guwahati was made even more special with the formal welcoming of the new Vice Principal (Mermier Block), Rev. Fr. Sibin V.A., during the morning assembly held at the Mermier Block in the presence of students, staff, and parents.
In a heartfelt gesture of welcome, Rev. Fr. Melvin Parambukattil, Principal, introduced and warmly welcomed Fr. Sibin to the SFS Guwahati family. As a mark of honour and Assamese tradition, he felicitated him with a gamusa, symbolising respect, warmth, and acceptance into the school community. Further adding meaning to the occasion and symbolising a new beginning, Fr. Melvin also presented him with a flower sapling as a token of welcome, representing growth, nurturing, and the promise of a fruitful journey ahead.
The assembly reflected a spirit of unity, joy, and renewed purpose as the school community extended its warm wishes to Rev. Fr. Sibin V.A. on his new role.
Later in the day, a staff meeting was held at 2:30 PM for all staff members in the Mermier Hall, marking an important beginning to the new session. Along with the discussion of key matters for the academic year ahead, the gathering also became a moment of celebration and togetherness with the observance of the birthdays of employees.
A special highlight of the afternoon was the celebration of the birthday of Sr. Sheeba James, Head of the Accounts Office, SFS Guwahati, which added warmth and joy to the occasion. The day concluded on a cheerful note with snacks shared among all, strengthening the bond of fellowship as the school stepped into a new academic year.
