About The Event
On the bright morning of May 5th, 2025, the SFS Block at St. Francis de Sales School, Guwahati, witnessed the solemn and inspiring Investiture Ceremony of the Student Council for the session 2025-26. The event commenced at around 07:55 AM, graced by the presence of the Principal Rev. Fr. George Thomas, Vice Principal Sr. Josna Varkey, Academic Director Dr. Sangeeta Bharali Dutta, Coordinators, teachers, staff, and students.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome and inspiring opening lines delivered by the student anchors Ayushi Nang Ukoï and Thangjam Shristy Devi of Class 10 D, emphasizing the true essence of leadership as a responsibility rather than just a title. The event officially took off with a spirited performance by the School Band, setting the tone for the day.
This was followed by a soulful prayer song, invoking blessings and divine guidance for the newly elected leaders. The anchors highlighted the commitment and dedication shown by the newly elected council members in earning their positions of leadership through hard work and integrity.
One of the key moments of the ceremony was the Flag Handover. Principal Fr. George Thomas officially entrusted the School Flag and House Flags to the Head Boy and the House Captains, symbolizing the trust placed in these young leaders. The students then took a solemn Oath of Office, pledging to uphold the values of honesty, responsibility, and integrity while serving the school with diligence and pride.
The highlight of the event, the Badge Distribution Ceremony, was conducted with great enthusiasm and decorum. The Principal, Vice Principal, and Academic Director adorned the Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captain, CCA Captain, and House Captains and Vice-Captains with their respective badges, marking their formal induction into the Student Council 2025.
In his motivational address, Principal Rev. Fr. George Thomas congratulated the newly appointed leaders and encouraged them to lead by example. He reminded them that leadership is about serving others selflessly and contributing meaningfully to the school community.
The ceremony concluded around 8.30 am with the National Anthem, evoking a strong sense of unity and patriotism among all present. As the audience dispersed, the atmosphere was filled with pride, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose.
This Investiture Ceremony was not just a celebration of leadership but also a reminder of the values that SFS Guwahati holds dear – integrity, service, and excellence.
