About The Event
The Investiture Ceremony 2025 of Mermier Block, St. Francis de Sales School, Guwahati, was held on 2nd May 2025 with great dignity and enthusiasm. The event marked an important milestone in the academic calendar, celebrating the formation and oath-taking of the newly elected Junior Students' Council.
The event commenced at 7:55 AM with a warm welcome by the comperes Shivangee Bora and Reiyikho Gabriel of Class 6E, who set the tone for the morning with inspiring words on leadership. The quote, “Leadership is not about a title or a designation. It's about impact, influence, and inspiration,” resonated with the spirit of the occasion.
One of the key highlights of the ceremony was the Oath-Taking led by the comperes, where the student leaders pledged to uphold the values of honesty, integrity, and accountability. The School Flag was ceremoniously handed over to the newly elected Junior Head Boy by the Vice Principal, Rev. Fr. Melvin Parambukattil, symbolizing the transfer of leadership responsibilities.
The badge distribution ceremony followed, where the Junior Head Boy, Junior Head Girl, and the Class Captains and Vice-Captains were formally inducted into their roles. The dignitaries who did the honours included Rev. Fr. Melvin Parambukattil (Vice Principal), Ms. Sanyukta Baruah (Senior Coordinator: LKG–V), and Ms. Sabari Purkayastha (Coordinator Cum HOD).
Each name was announced with pride, and the students received their badges amidst applause and encouragement from their peers and teachers. This segment symbolized trust and responsibility being placed on the shoulders of the young leaders.
Father Melvin then addressed the gathering with words of motivation, emphasizing the importance of servant leadership, discipline, and the responsibility that comes with the role of a student leader. His message inspired the newly elected council to lead by example and remain grounded in the values of the school.
The ceremony concluded around 8.35 am with the National Anthem, sung with pride and patriotism by everyone present.
