About The Event
The 3-day in-house training session held at SFS Guwahati from March 20th to March 23rd, 2024, aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of teachers. The session followed a structured training schedule with different resource persons delivering insightful sessions on each day starting from 9.00 am – 3.00 pm on the mentioned dates.
The first training day focused on extensive reading and understanding of the Teacher's Diary (session 24-25). The session emphasized the importance of maintaining a comprehensive and organized diary to track daily activities, lesson plans, and student progress effectively.
Resource Persons: Dr. Sangeeta Bharali Datta (Academic Director, SFS Guwahati) & Sanyukta Baruah (Senior Coordinator, SFS Guwahati)
The resource persons being experts in educational management, guided the teachers through various techniques for effective diary management. They highlighted the significance of reflection and self-assessment in improving teaching practices and explained in detail how the diary is to be maintained for better results. Interactive exercises and group discussions were conducted to facilitate better understanding and implementation of the concepts discussed.
On the second day, the training centered on exploring the qualities of good questions and integrating CARES. The session aimed to enhance teachers' ability to formulate thought-provoking questions that stimulate critical thinking and promote meaningful learning experiences that shall be helpful for the students.
Resource Person: Lopamudra Das (Zonal Head, Academic Consulting)
The resource person, an experienced educator specializing in pedagogy, led engaging discussions on the characteristics of effective questions and strategies for incorporating CARES principles into classroom interactions. Practical examples and case studies were used to illustrate the application of these concepts in diverse educational settings.
The final day of the training featured a motivational and descriptive session on utilizing School Cinema as a powerful tool for educational enrichment. The session aimed to inspire teachers to leverage cinematic experiences to instill values, foster empathy, and ignite curiosity among students and how the incorporation of school cinema in the curriculum shall be integrated by the teachers.
Resource Person: Srijana Kumai (Psychotherapist, Counsellor and trainer of School Cinema)
The resource person shared insights into the potential of School Cinema in enhancing the teaching-learning process. They showcased inspiring films and discussed innovative ways to integrate cinematic storytelling into lesson plans. Practical tips for conducting film-based activities and discussions were also provided to empower teachers in creating impactful learning experiences.
The 3-day training session at SFS Guwahati proved to be highly enriching and insightful for the participating teachers. The diverse topics covered by expert resource persons equipped them with valuable knowledge, skills, and strategies to enhance their teaching practices and promote holistic development among students.
