About The Event
The corridors of SFS School, Guwahati were once again filled with the happy chatter of students as the Academic Session 2025-26 started on 2nd April 2025. After a refreshing session break, the SFS Block and the Mermier Block exploded with excitement as we started a lively new academic year of learning, growing, and engaging in pursuits for the upcoming academic year.
The first day, held the significance of a special morning assembly where students and teachers joined in together for prayer seeking God’s blessings for the new academic year. The Principal, Rev. Fr. George Thomas, was present to impart an encouraging message with students and invited them to step into a new session with devotion, discipline, and determination. Meanwhile the Vice Principal, Rev. Fr. Melvin also addressed the morning assembly at the Mermier block encouraging our little Desalites to start the year with zeal and zest. Both of them focused on holistic education and the expectations of the values of hard work and integrity as students stepped into this new endeavour. Teachers opened their doors to classrooms and welcomed students in creating a tone of excitement about the journey ahead. Orientation sessions to students in various classes were also contemplated, and it was encouraging to see students familiarize themselves about the academic expectations, the guidance for co-curricular activity, and parameters for the academic year to come.
The buzz around campus was palpable as students exchanged stories on the break and passed along into their routines of work and learning. Staff and Faculty were equally enthusiastic about the start of another year of guiding, mentoring, and working collaboratively with students toward excellence in academic pursuits. With fresh energy and a dash of creativity and a common commitment to excellence, SFS Guwahati started another hopeful academic year. The first day ended on a positive note, leaving both students and teachers looking forward to the learning and experiences awaiting them in the coming months.
