About The Event
On the bright morning of 7th April 2025, the assembly area of the Mermier Block at SFS School echoed with warmth, gratitude, and celebration as the school community came together for a dual occasion — to Welcome the new students of Grade I and to bid a fond farewell to Madam Prity Minj.
The event commenced promptly at 8:00 AM with an energetic and disciplined Band Display, setting a lively tone for the morning. This was followed by the initiation of the programme at 8:05 AM, led by the comperes, who welcomed the audience and introduced the significance of the event.
At 8:10 AM, the atmosphere became reverent as all the people present for the assembly started invoking the almighty with the Prayer Song, expressing both a warm welcome to the youngest members of the school and invoking blessings for the new academic year.
Following the prayer, Ms. Ruthika Doley of Grade IV C delivered a heartwarming message on behalf of the student body. Her words reflected the excitement and anticipation surrounding the arrival of the Grade I students, while also acknowledging the legacy of Madam Prity Minj.
The highlight of the event was the felicitation of Madam Prity Minj in recognition of her 25 years of dedicated service to SFS School. Her remarkable journey spanning a quarter of a century is a true example to her loyal commitment, love for teaching, and positive influence on generations of students. It was a moment of deep respect and appreciation, marking not just a farewell, but a celebration of a career that has left an indelible mark on the institution.
The Principal, Rev. Fr. George Thomas, then addressed the gathering at around 8:25 AM, offering an inspiring message that underscored the importance of beginnings and endings in the journey of life. He warmly welcomed the new students of Grade I and paid respect to Madam Prity Minj’s exceptional service and contributions over the years through his speech.
Thereafter Madam Prity Minj took to the stage to share her message. Her heartfelt words, filled with gratitude and emotion, reflected the deep connection she shares with the school, her colleagues, and her students. It was a touching moment that resonated with all present.
The event moved towards its conclusion with a Vote of Thanks at around 8:35 AM, acknowledging all those who contributed to making the occasion a memorable one.
Finally, the school community stood together in unity as the School Anthem was sung at 8:40 AM, marking the end of a touching and meaningful ceremony.
The event beautifully balanced celebration and sentiment, embracing new beginnings while honouring a remarkable journey. It truly captured the spirit of the SFS family, where every student is welcomed with love, and every educator is remembered with deep respect. Madam Prity Minj’s 25 years of selfless service will remain a proud part of the school’s legacy for years to come.
