About The Event
On the 30th of August 2024, SFS School, Guwahati, organized a heartfelt farewell for Fr. Rijesh Thomas at the Mermier Block. The event started during the morning assembly where students gave away various performances for their beloved Vice Principal Fr. Rijesh. Soon after this the Principal Rev. Fr. George Thomas spoke a few words and with this the celebration with the students concluded.
Another event was the farewell celebration with the staff. The event, which began at 2:35 PM, was a poignant tribute to honor Fr. Rijesh’s dedicated service to the school.
The program opened with a serene prayer song, "We Welcome You," setting a spiritual atmosphere for the event. Shortly after, Anuradha Gogoi Ma’am delivered a warm welcome message, highlighting Fr. Rijesh’s invaluable contributions to the school and the positive impact he had on the community. Following her, Shilpi Hazarika Ma’am shared a touching message, filled with personal anecdotes and reflections on Fr. Rijesh’s leadership and kindness.
A special video presentation was then showcased, capturing key moments from Fr. Rijesh’s time at SFS School. The video, filled with memories, was a touching tribute to his journey and service. After the video, Sunny Bharadwaj Ma’am performed a beautiful song, which added a musical note to the event and resonated with the emotional tone of the farewell.
The Principal, Rev. Fr. George Thomas delivered a thoughtful message, expressing his gratitude for Fr. Rijesh’s contributions and wishing him success in his future endeavors. Pratiksha Deka Ma’am followed with a moving musical performance, enhancing the heartfelt mood of the ceremony.
At 3:15 PM, Fr. Rijesh Thomas was formally felicitated by the school, recognizing his commitment and dedication. Fr. Rijesh then took the stage to deliver his farewell message, where he shared his gratitude towards the school community and reflected on the memorable experiences he had during his time at SFS. His words were filled with humility and emotion, leaving a deep impact on everyone present.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging all those who made the event successful. The school anthem was then sung by all attendees, uniting the gathering in pride and a sense of belonging to the SFS family. The event ended with a light snack session, allowing staff and attendees to personally interact with Fr. Rijesh and wish him well for the future.
