St. Francis De Sales School, Guwahati, celebrated the birthday of its beloved Vice-Principal (Mermier Block), Rev. Fr. Sibin V.A., with great warmth and enthusiasm on 9th October 2026 through a special programme titled ‘NOVARA’ at the Assembly Ground, Mermier Block. The celebration brought together students, teachers and staff members to express their love, gratitude and appreciation for Fr. Sibin, making the occasion a memorable moment of togetherness for the entire SFS family.
The programme commenced with a prayer song, seeking God’s blessings for the occasion. This was followed by ‘Tunes of Gratitude’, an orchestra performance by the talented students of Classes III to VI, whose melodious presentation added a musical touch to the celebration.
The Principal, Rev. Fr. Melvin Parambukattil, addressed the gathering and extended his heartfelt wishes to Fr. Sibin along with Vice Principal, Sr. Baby Rose in Mermier Block. His message highlighted the importance of guidance, encouragement and the values that strengthen the school community. The celebration continued with the felicitation of Fr. Sibin as a mark of respect, affection and appreciation for his contributions to the institution.
Adding colour and vibrancy to the morning, the little ones from Nursery to UKG presented ‘Rhythm Parade’, a delightful dance performance that reflected their enthusiasm and joy. Niangngaihching of Class II-E then shared a heartfelt birthday message on behalf of the students. The celebration continued with ‘Joyful Tribute’, an energetic dance performance by the students of Class VII, further enlivening the occasion.
Rev. Fr. Sibin V.A. subsequently addressed the gathering and expressed his gratitude, sharing his thoughts with the SFS family. The morning programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem, bringing the celebration to a dignified close.
The birthday celebrations continued in the afternoon with a special gathering exclusively for the teaching and non-teaching staff members at Mermier Hall. The programme began at 2:30 p.m. with the prayer song ‘We Welcome You’, setting a warm and celebratory tone for the occasion. This was followed by a welcome address by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Melvin Parambukattil, and a special video presentation prepared to mark the occasion.
The felicitation of Rev. Fr. Sibin V.A. was followed by a message from Madam Sabari Purkayastha. Adding a musical touch to the celebration, Madam Pratiksha Borthakur, Madam Nishtha Arya Bharti, Sir Lucas Rosaily and Sir Gulshan Acharjee presented a song in honour of the birthday celebrant. Rev. Fr. Sibin then addressed the gathering, sharing his thoughts and expressing his appreciation to the staff members for their affection and warm wishes.
The celebration continued with the ceremonial cake cutting, followed by a vote of thanks. The afternoon gathering concluded on a cheerful note, with snacks served to all staff members, providing an opportunity for everyone to come together and share the joy of the occasion.
Both celebrations reflected the strong sense of fellowship, respect and togetherness that defines the SFS family. From the enthusiastic performances of the students during the morning assembly to the warm camaraderie shared among staff members in the afternoon, NOVARA became a heartfelt tribute to a valued member of the school’s leadership.
